Vehicle Window Rain Guards
Vehicle window rain guards, also known as window visors or deflectors, are accessories installed on the upper part of a vehicle’s side windows. They serve several purposes:
Five Main Benefits
-
Rain Protection: The primary purpose of rain guards is to allow you to keep your windows slightly open during rain. This provides ventilation without letting water into the cabin.
-
Wind Deflection: They help to reduce wind noise and turbulence when driving with the windows partially open.
-
Sun Glare Reduction: Rain guards can also help in reducing sun glare by blocking some of the sunlight from entering through the windows.
-
Ventilation: Even in rainy conditions, you can get fresh air into the car without worrying about rain entering the vehicle.
-
Aesthetic Appeal: Some people install rain guards because they add a sleek look to the vehicle.
Two Types
-
In-Channel Rain Guards: These fit directly into the window channel, giving a more seamless look. They can be more secure but might slightly interfere with window operation if not installed correctly.
-
Stick-On Rain Guards: These are attached to the outside of the vehicle’s door frame using adhesive. They are generally easier to install and do not interfere with the window mechanism.
How To Make THE Installation
- Preparation: Clean the surface where the guards will be attached to ensure the adhesive or the in-channel fitment works well.
- Positioning: Carefully align the rain guards with the window or door frame before securing them in place.
- Attachment: For stick-on guards, peel off the backing from the adhesive and press the guard firmly in place. For in-channel guards, insert them into the window channel and adjust as needed.
Maintenance Skills
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the rain guards to prevent dirt buildup.
- Inspection: Check the adhesive or fitment periodically to ensure they remain secure, especially after car washes or extreme weather.
